Recovery… The Healthy Way

photo 2 (2)If you wake up feeling less then stellar from God knows what you did last night. This is a great way to “recover” the morning after without all greasy grease.

  • 1 lightly salted rice cake
  • 1 Laughing Cow cheese wedge (I used the original Swiss but you do you)
  • enough spinach leaves to cover the bottom of the rice cake
  • 2 eggs over-easy
  • salt and pepper to taste

Coffee Smoozie

  • 8 oz. of plain coffee
  • 1 banana
  • 2 TBS of peanut butter
  • 1   6oz. container of vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 8 ice cubes

Blend until silky and smooth

Sauce-y Little Number

I think that fresh tomato sauce can cure anything.

You break up with someone? Tomato sauce

You stub your toe? Tomato sauce

You ate too much tomato sauce? Tomato Sauce

SO I took my bio test and wanted to make fresh tomato sauce and this is what happened.

These are your ingredients:

I use Roma tomatoes because I just like them best.

Also fresh basil… is there even any other way?

In your pot you are going to warm the oil chopped garlic and the red pepper flakes… THIS SHOULD NOT BE BUBBLING.

SO you’re gonna cut tomatoes in half (deseed them )and roast them to get their nasty skins off. Because skins in sauce make me want to vomit.

Peel these bad boys off

THEN the fun part, crush the tomatoes over the pot then pour the juice in the roasting pan in with the tomatoes.

simmer for 2-2.5 hours in the last ten minutes add few leaves of chopped basil then enjoy… and put it on everything.

Buffalo Chicken Heaven (Pizza)

I like to think that heaven is just buffalo chicken pizza falling from the sky (with the occasional chocolate flood). It just makes me speechless.


Get your ingredients together

  • The crust is Naan. (Naan = nom. remember that)
  • chicken breast
  • mozz cheesy
  • cheddar cheesy
  • hot sauce

so cook your chicken in butter and hot sauce till its cooked all the way through (165 degrees) cause bacteria.

grate your cheeses and put them on the Naan shred your chicken and put it on the pizza.

Then put it in an oven (375 degrees) to melt the cheese and smoosh it all together. add additional hot sauce if ya wanna.

and I used a toaster oven SO GET OVER IT.

keep an eye on it but you should take it out around like 10 minutes. also crank the broiler if ya want DAT CRISP. yo.

Then take it out, slice her up (or not I don’t care) and take it to the face.

Fresh Pasta of Bel-Air

The experiment for the day.  Homemade pasta. SO I’ve never made pasta before so I started simple. I made a noodle that was just egg and flour. The ratio of egg to flour was 1 egg:1/2 cup (recipe in post script script). It went better than expected. The pasta was so delicious and chewy.. as any good pasta should be. In the last picture I combined the fresh pasta with homemade tomato sauce.

So. Good.

I personally don’t understand the “no carb” trend that’s happening. Just eat carbs, in moderation obviously, but just do it. It’ll make everything better. I promise.

P.S. if the picture looks funny in this it’s not my fault. It’s technologies fault, we don’t get along and not on speaking terms currently. It’s complicated.


1 serving supplies:

1 egg

1/2 cup flour

make well in flour and pour egg in. mix till dough is formed. next, dust a cutting board with flour. put dough on the board and knead that ish for a bit. knead it till it is smooth and no longer tacky and sticky. use a rolling pin to roll out into a thin sheet.

cut pasta from this into any shape your little heart desires (the pasta will puff up dramatically once cooked so keep the dough thin). cook in violently boiling water with salt and a little oil. cook for 2-3 minutes. NO LONGER for the love of god no longer. then it’s time to nom.
